Sun Microsystems Inc’s SunConnect business reckons it is time it went international, and it has announced plans to expand its operations worldwide and to establish new headquarters in Grenoble, France, where Hewlett-Packard Co is already deeply ensconced. The business, which develops and markets products for using and managing global networks, will maintain a strong presence in Mountain View, California. The expanded business is headed by Denis Yaro, who will be in Grenoble by mid-1993 as general manger of SunConnect and a vice-president of Sun Microsystems. Yaro joined in 1989 as manager and then director of network management. He led the group that designed, developed and brought to market the firm’s SunNet Manager network management system.
