Tape and removable disk subsystem manufacturer Sysgen Inc of Milpitas, California has a quartet of ‘bridge’ transport products to assist Personal, XT and AT users migrating to the new IBM PS/2 line. The products include a $325 3.5 disk Bridge File which provides a two-way link between the IBM families with 720Kb and 1.44Mb of floppy storage. The $325 5.25 Bridge File connects the two families providing 360Kb and 1.2Mb of floppy storage. The $795 Bridge Tape has a tape unit capacity of 42Mb to port data to all of the old PC-DOS boxes and the entire PS/2 line. The $1,595 External Durapak is Sysgen’s existing removeable hard disk subsystem modified to tie the old PC-DOS family to PS/2 Model 30 with 15Mb of storage. There is also a $70 adaptor card for use with PS/2 and old PC-DOS products.
