4 key findings from Tableau’s third quarter report.
1. Tops $100m in Q3 revenue
The analytics and visualisation firm said revenues for the third quarter ending in September hit $104.5m, up 71% from $61.1m last year.
Christian Chabot, Tableau’s CEO, said: "Total revenue for the third quarter exceeded $100 million for the first time, demonstrating continued momentum in the business."
Tableau’s license revenue also grew 66% to $69.8m during the same period, while international revenue jumped 115% to $24.1m.
2. $4.6m net loss
Tableau reported a quarterly net loss of over $4.6m, compared to net income of $2.4m from the same period last year.
3. 2,500 new customers
The Seattle-based company has added more than 2,500 new customer accounts, closing 200 sales orders greater than $100,000. This is a 68% year over year increase.
4. Employees grow 65%
Tableau is reportedly on the hunt for further talent after finishing the quarter with 1,717 employees, up 65% from last year.
"We continue to invest in product innovation in support of our mission," added Chabot.
"At our annual Tableau Conference, we unveiled innovations we are working on, including some that are slated for Tableau 9.0. We plan to further develop our cloud and mobile offerings, extend our enterprise capabilities, expand our analytics functionality, and expandour support for data sources and platforms."
