Tandem Computers Inc and Alcatel’s SEL Canada have joined Union Pacific Railroad as shareholders in Omaha, Nebraska monitoring and control systems specialist Automated Monitoring and Control International Inc. The company will initially concentrate on developing an advanced train control system for the railway industry using Tandem computers and SEL Canada’s technology.
