Carrenza helps the wine retailer boost the functionality and scalability of its Intershop ecommerce environment.
Specialist wine retailer Majestic has chosen Carrenza Limited, a provider of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud computing, to help improve its online presence by hosting its new Intershop ecommerce platform.
Majestic Wine is one of the UK’s leading wine retailers, but needed to translate that success online. This was key for Majestic Wine, as the internet is an integral part of its business. Although the company has maintained an ecommerce platform since 2000, the technology behind the site was beginning to struggle under the pressure of high online demand. It also needed to think about how it could incorporate new technologies such as mobile and social into its online presence.
Carrenza will be providing the infrastructure that hosts the Intershop platform, as well as the supporting management services. In addition to the high availability guaranteed by Carrenza, Majestic will benefit from added flexibility to cope with the evolving ecommerce market for years to come.
