The Viper Miner will be available by early/mid 2014.
Alpha Technology has begun developing the first purpose-built ASIC mining hardware for Litecoin, expected to be available by early/mid 2014.
After signing a partnership deal with Indian designer and manufacturer Dexcel Designs, UK-based Alpha Technology has announced the development of the Viper Miner, which will have two models: 5Mh/s and 25Mh/s.
As more people are made millionaires by Bitcoins, this ASIC mining hardware looks set to be popular after Alpha Technology announced it will be taking pre-orders for the Miners from the first week of January 2014.
The Viper Miners will not only be able to mine Litecoin, but all Scrypt cryptocurrencies.
Alpha Technology is providing its mining and cryptocurrency expertise while Dexcel Designs will handle hardware development, production and quality assurance.
It would represent a significant increase in computing power backing the litecoin network. At present, most mining of the world’s second most popular cryptocurrency still takes place on regular graphics cards and GPUs, as did Bitcoin previously.
