IT and business process outsourcing services provider TechTeam Global Inc has announced that it has enticed William Brown away from his post as head of IBM’s public sector business transformation outsourcing unit to become its president and CEO.
The Southfield, Michigan-based company said Brown would begin his duties on February 16 after he has completed a key assignment with IBM.
Though Brown has spent 10 years at IBM, he has left Big Blue for a CEO post before. In 2001 he took the top job at Indian application development services provider Aztec Software Inc, but resigned in March 2003 after a disastrous year for the company in which sales fell 38%.
Brown replaces William Coyro, the founder of TechTeam, who agreed last November to step down upon completion of the search for a successor.
