Teradata Corp, Los Angeles, has teamed with Don Massaro’s Metaphor Computer Systems in Mountain View to implement a facility enabling users of the Teradata DBC/1012 multi-microprocessor Data Base Computer system to query and analyse data through an icon-based graphical interface. Teradata will develop a version of its Communications Processor which will communicate over Ethernet using XNS protocols and Metaphor will develop the Teradata Ethernet Gateway as a component of its system that will allow Metaphor worksdations and servers to interact with the Teradata DBC/1012. The DBC/1012-Metaphor interface is set for third quarter 1988.
