The Bloomsbury Computing Consortium was launched yesterday to bring together the computing services of six London institutions: Birkbeck College, Institute of Education, Royal Veterinary College, University College London, British Postgraduate Medical Federation and London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine; the Consortium’s first project is to provide an integrated computing service based on distributed networking which, it is hoped, will be used to help develop industrial products in collaboration with the larger computer companies.
