The Pharmaceutical Institute has released a series of e-courses that, it claims, systematically explain how a typical pharmaceutical company operates, function by function, to discover, develop, and commercialize drugs.
The first module in the nine-part series provides an introduction to the industry, including a review of the regulatory environment governing pharmaceutical enterprises, and profiles of the three customer groups with the greatest impact on drug selection.
The subsequent eight modules will be dedicated to individual functional areas within a pharmaceutical company, including drug development, manufacturing and distribution.
The Pharmaceutical Institute said that each of these modules describes the function’s basic responsibilities and its importance to the larger organization; provides details on the function’s key tasks, processes, and activities; discusses how the function is typically organized; and describes any supporting functions normally associated with it.
The 20-hour Understanding Pharma e-course series comes in a streaming multimedia format and is available for $2,395. Each module can also be purchased individually, for $295 per module.
