Despite the fact that Thorn EMI Plc is still in buying mode, the disposals are still not quite over: there’s Inmos International of course, where the company wants at the least to reduce its exposure, and while everyone noticed on Friday that the company expanded its lighting business with the UKP15.9m acquisition of Jarnkonst AB of Sweden, less widely noted was the fact that the company is planning to sell its one third share in the three-way J2T Holdings videocassette recorder making venture in Holland to the other two partners, Japanese Victor Co and Thomson CSF.
