Thorn EMI Plc, which has made no secret about its intention to divest itself of its radar division, has confirmed it is talking to French defence and electronics group Thomson-CSF SA, about its sale but refused to confirm that a deal was expected shortly: the Sunday Times reported that Thomson-CSF was the frontrunner of three interested groups and said the radar division was expected to fetch between #25m and #30m; Thorn EMI, which has been stripping non-core businesses to focus on its key activities, last month got shot of 60% of its Thorn Security Group to a management buyout for #38.6m.
