TietoEnator Corp., the Nordic region’s largest indigenous IT services supplier, has acquired Doctorex Oy, a software supplier to the Finnish private healthcare sector, from Mehilainen Corporation.
The Espoo, Finland-based company will integrate Doctorex and its 15 employees into its Healthcare & Welfare business unit, which employs over 600 people in the Nordic region.
Doctorex made revenue of 1.3 million euros in 2003 through sales of its software products which include Doctorex, a patient management and operative services information system, and Mildoc, a health care patient system.
Tietoenator has made a string of acquisitions this year which have boosted its sales. In January 2004, it concluded the $87 million acquisition of Ki Consulting, which specializes in IT services for telecommunications companies. The Swedish firm made sales of approximately $107 million in 2003, and was responsible for most of TietoEnator’s sales growth over the last two quarters.
In the same month it acquired 95.5% of Inveos AG, a Hamburg, Germany-based IT consultant that focuses on the banking and finance sectors, increasing its German headcount to 350 consultants. In March 2004 it acquired Octel Oy, an IT services company aimed at the insurance sector. It also purchased Jons-Medical Oy, a Finnish medical imaging and archiving business, and in July 2004 it bought Norwegian public sector software company Respons AS for 4.2 million euros ($5.1 million).
