Toshiba Corp has developed a networking system to link its J3100 and J3300 laptops with its V-7000 distributed processor and on to the large mainframes offered by NEC Corp, IBM Japan, Fujitsu Ltd and Hitachi Ltd: the TOPS Total Office Productivity Support System will be available from July next year at a price still to be decided; the system is based on OS/2 and is seen as part of Toshiba’s strategy to increase sales of all three computers.
