Digital Equipment Corp has joined forces with Toshiba Corp on developing chips for 155Mbps Asynchronous Transfer Mode switches for the hub, switch and adaptor board markets. Under the agreement, Toshiba says it will immediately offer a DEC-designed 155Mbps chip, optimised for hub switch applications.
