Toshiba Corp is to start making lap-top computers, including the new T1000SE notepad machine, at its Regensburg, West Germany plant from April, initially at a rate of 5,000 a month, rising to 10,000 a month in a year; and in the US it will start manufacturing the T1000SE at its Irvine base from next month or early next year, at 5,000 a month; it looks for total European and US sales of the notepads of 10,000.
