Unisys Corp duly announced the A1, A4 and A6 48-bit machines yesterday – they are direct, downsized descendents of the Burroughs B59-69-7900 line – and pitched the entry-level A1 model at just $25,000. The A4 is rated at 1.6 MIPS and starts at $55,000, and the A6, rated at 3.2 MIPS, starts at $145,000.
