Unisys Corp has two new PW2 Advantage Series SFR rack-mount servers that can accommodate up to three quad 100MHz Pentium unit server modules in a single cabinet. New versions include mid- and full-size rack models with five EISA slots, four PCI slots, one of which is shared, up to 1Gb of RAM, 512Kb or 2Mb of L2 cache, nine 5.25 drive bays for up to 24Gb disk, one 3.5 drive bay and redundant 600 Watt power supplies. Unisys has also added an entry-level 120MHz Pentium PCI bus SVD server with up to 256Mb RAM and a 24Gb disk. A ZIF socket upgrade will stretch the unit to a two-way device. All can be pre-loaded with Windows NT, MP (when available), OS/2 symmetric multiprocessing or Santa Cruz OpenServer. Its current line of dual and quad-processors servers in the SSE, SME and SFE lines have also been upgraded to 100MHz and 133MHz Pentiums. The SME and SFE are now PCI compliant. The new single-processor tower server, the SPE, using a 100MHz Pentium, also has a PCI bus. The SFR rack-mount server is available with 100MHz processors now and 133MHz in August, and costs from $14,000. The SVD server costs from $4,800 to $6,000 and is available now. The 100MHz processors for the SSE, SME and SFE are also available now. PCI bus SME and SFE systems will be available in August. The new SPE single processor server is also out now and costs from $7,200 to $9,200.
