Hard on the heels of its release of the Windowing Korn Shell 1.0 a few weeks ago, Unix System Laboratories Inc has come out with WKSH 1.1, which adds the Tuxedo System Interface library for rapid prototyping. WKSH is claimed to enable programmers to write windowing applications in shell language in about a tenth the time of an equivalent C-based X Window application. It works with both Open Look and Motif intrinsics tool kits. It is supplied as source code for Unix System V.4 from Unix Labs, and as a shrinkwrapped product for Sunsoft Inc’s SunOS 4.1, Microsoft Corp’s Open Windows 3.0, Santa Cruz Operation Inc Open Desktop 2.0 and IBM Corp’s AIX Unix through distributors.
