IBM Corp has been awarded a $118.4m contract to develop simulators for the US Army, according to Evans & Sutherland Computer Corp, which is to provide the project’s visusal system components: the contract is for the Close Combat Tactical Trainer, a series of manned simulators that replicate combat vehicles and weapons systems; 641 trainers will be built and the project is expected to be completed by April 1997.
