The proposed US ban on overseas gambling web sites has been attacked by Antigua and Barbuda, who accuse the US of failing to comply with current World Trade Organization rulings.
US politicians are looking to extend a current ban on interstate telephone gambling to internet gambling, effectively preventing US citizens from using overseas gambling sites. It is a move strongly opposed by the tiny nation, which is home to a number of internet gambling companies.
Last year the WTO ruled that while the US could restrict internet gambling, a complete block was an unfair application of the rules as it discriminated against foreign companies.
