Ohio Republican Congressman Michael Oxley has encouraging news for British Telecommunications Plc. He says the acquisition of MCI Communications Corp will be a boon to consumers, and is likely to win the blessing of US regulators. Oxley will chair the House Telecommunications Subcommittee when Congress returns next year. He also said he will renew his push to scrap the decades- old law that generally bars a foreigner from owning more than 25% of a US telecommunications company.
