The sons of Bill Ziff want to sell their enormous privately-held publishing and electronic information interests businesses to concentrate financial resources and business activities on Ziff Brothers Investments and have hired Lazard Freres & Co as financial advisor: up for grabs is Ziff Communications Inc, the media holding company, which includes Ziff-Davis Publishing Co, ZiffNet and Interchange on-line services, Information Access Co and related electronic information businesses and the NetWorld+Interop and Seybold computer trade shows; the company employs more than 4,300 people worldwide and has annual sales of about $1,000m, and could fetch two to three times that sum.
