Mobile email platform provider Visto Corp announced that it will make Visto Mobile 5.5 available to its operator customers in the second quarter, with the key new advance being the ability to provide both professional and personal information to those on the move, according to the company.
Visto, which recently launched a patent infringement lawsuit against Good Technology Inc, said Visto Mobile 5.5 will include multiple mailbox management to let users access personal email as well as their corporate mailbox on one device. It will also feature off duty hours, which enables users to define their mobile email day, and a corporate directory search feature that enables users to access local and remote personal and corporate address lists.
There will also be the ability to remotely remove data from a lost or stolen device, and to set timeframes for checking or challenging user passwords. It also provides operators with a means to be more innovative and creative in the way they market mobile email to different customer segments, such as pre-pay, according to Visto.
Visto is powering mobile email services through over 16 mobile operators, including Cingular, Rogers Wireless, Sprint-Nextel and Vodafone. The company’s Visto Mobile platform with ConstantSync technology works in real time with POP3, IMAP, Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino e-mail servers.
