Wang Laboratories Inc, Lowell, Massachusetts, yesterday began serious implementation of local area net-work industry standards with intro-duction of a series of IEEE 802.3 Ethernet products. The offerings include hardware, software, and Wang-provided cable plant components and services for its family of VS business computers. The new 802.3 products allow a Wang VS to be connected to an IEEE-compliant network consisting of baseband or broadband cable systems. The VSs can intercommunicate on the net. VS Cable Kits are from $100 to $300, the VS LAN Interface $1,500, the VS LAN Controller is $2,500.
