Transporting portable media to even greater heights, internet giant Yahoo has announced the launch of “Yahoo! Go”, a suite of products connecting users to the company’s web services across various devices.
Yahoo! Go Mobile, TV and Desktop provides consumers easy access to internet information via PC, cell phone and television set.
The service is expected to integrate the internet into the mobile phone experience, combining real-time connectivity with community, information and content services from across the web.
Yahoo’s ambition for Go TV is to deliver the power and depth of the internet to the PC-connected television. Users will have access to content such as digital photos and movie playtimes at local theaters via a remote, without the need of a keyboard or mouse.
The internet giant says the Yahoo! Go Desktop will allow users to connect to the information that matters to them online without having to open a browser window on their personal computer. Enabling this service are small programs on the PC desktop known as widgets which can show the user search results, calendars etc, without opening a browser window.
Marco Boerries, senior vice president, Connected Life, Yahoo said, Yahoo! Go will make consumers’ personally relevant information available to them anytime across their mobile phone, TV or personal computer. By making Yahoo! Go open, we are giving consumers the ability to easily access not only the Yahoo! services they find most vital, but also the universe of information available from across the web.
The complete suite is expected to be available over the coming months.
