Zenith Electronics Corp has told shareholders it is still seeking alliances with other companies to stem the flow of red ink from its consumer electronics division, and is asking them to take no action in response to investor group Brookhurst Partners LP’s solicitations: Zenith says that its talks, with unnamed parties, involve consolidating manufacturing operations in North American plants; using common designs in various consumer products to reduce development costs; licensing its technology; and distributing products from third parties under the Zenith brand name.
