Trying to cool the excitement generated by the choice of its technology for a key part of the US specification (CI No 2,356) Zenith Electronics Corp says it may take years before high definition television will have a significant impact on its, or the industry’s revenue: Zenith’s shares jumped $1.25 or 11% after the alliance said it chose Zenith’s transmission subsystem for the high definition system being proposed to the Federal Communications Commission.
