Product revenue increased by 9% in Q2
Extreme Networks has reported revenue of $85m for the second quarter of fiscal 2011, an increase of 7% compared to $79.4m for the same period last year.
Revenue from product increased by 9% to $70.3m from $64.4m, while service revenue decreased to $14.8m from $15m for the same quarter last year.
For the second quarter ended December 26, 2010, the company posted an operating income of $91m compared to an operating loss of $1.6m during second quarter of fiscal 2010.
The company reported net income of $9m for the second quarter of fiscal 2011, compared to a net loss of $1.4m for the same period last year.
Diluted earnings per share were $0.10, compared to a loss of $0.02 per share for the same period last year.
Extreme Networks president and CEO Oscar Rodriguez said both EMEA and APAC posted solid performance, again this quarter.
"Product revenue in North America increased about 8% over Q2 last year, but did not improve from Q1 as we had expected and we have just appointed a new vice president of NA Sales and have reorganised North America to provide improved customer focus," Rodriguez said.
For the third quarter of fiscal 2011, Extreme Networks expects revenue of $82m to $85m and non-GAAP diluted earning per share of $0.05 to $0.08.
