To promote information-sharing and communication
OKI Electric Industry has offered its Crossba social networking service (SNS) to DIC, which allows individuals within the organisation to share information and knowledge.
DIC has already introduced Crossba among its employees as a virtual meeting place where they can socialise and as a tool they can use to share information based on social interconnections.
OKI said that DIC has considered deploying an internal SNS to promote both information-sharing and communication and breaks down the barriers that divide departments and positions.
The company said that its Crossba SNS was developed as a place for the exchange of fresh ideas and information-sharing. In addition to basic SNS functions, it offers socialware features such as ichimoudajin (consolidated) search, social bookmarking, file attachments, questionnaires, Q&As, and functions allowing users to set up wikis, among others.
Yuichiro Hiranuma, general manager of system platform centre at OKI, said: We hope Crossba will strengthen employee interconnections and help catalyse new products and businesses in a manner transcending departments and assigned roles.
“Viewing Crossba as a tool that helps organisations succeed in various challenges, OKI will continue to provide the platform to promote communication, knowledge application, and networking among organisational members.
