Features Unite, Turbo and photo sharing app
Opera has released a new version of web browser Opera 10.10 with Opera Unite, a technology for personal content sharing directly between all devices.
According to Opera, the new release wraps both a web browser and a web server into a single package. It features a photo sharing application, media player application and Opera Turbo. The photo sharing application allows the users to share up to 10 GB of photos directly from the browser, while the media player application streams the entire music library to another computer, mobile phone or game console.
Opera Unite allows users to share content directly without having to upload anything to a web site. It allows users to stream music, show photo galleries, share files and folders or even host web pages directly from the browser, the company said.
The company claims that the Opera Turbo speeds up the network connection and offers eight-times-faster web surfing over slow connections than other browsers.
Jon von Tetzchner, CEO of Opera, said: We promised Opera Unite would reinvent the web. What we are really doing is reinventing how we as consumers interact with the Web. By giving our devices the ability to serve content, we become equal citizens on the web. In an age where we have ceded control of our personal data to third-parties, Opera Unite gives us the freedom to choose how we will share the data that belongs to us.
