News: Yammer and LinkedIn offer similar services.
Facebook at Work is being deployed by RBS in order to improve collaboration.
The platform, which has been in development for around 18 months and closed beta since January, is to be made available to 30,000 staff by March 2016 and the rest of its staff by the end of the year.
Targeted at enterprises, it offers the same features as the consumer version, although, it does offer higher security by making account separate and information only accessible to colleagues.
RBS has been testing the platform since July. It is aimed at improving productivity by enabling staff to work together more efficiently.
Yammer and LinkedIn are two competitors in the market that offer similar services.
Tristan Rogers, CEO of Concrete, said: "Analysts are already calling time on Enterprise Collaboration 1.0. Talking about work is not doing work, and version 2.0 needs to be about tools that make doing work easier, faster and more collaborative.
"Facebook may be the granddaddy of social media, but in the enterprise it looks like a tool which is seven years too late to the party. And it wasn’t a very good party in the first place."
