Allows bloggers to select content and assemble it into a BlogBook
SharedBook, a provider of content transformation technologies for consumers, online publishers and enterprises, is working with Google to allow bloggers on Google’s Blogger Web publishing service to capture multiple blog entries and convert them into a printed book or downloadable PDF.
The company said that using its Blog2Print technology, bloggers on Google’s Blogger service are able to select content they would like to collect and save in printed form and assemble the content into a BlogBook, with consistent formatting of text and photos, pagination and an automatically created Table of Contents.
The book can be purchased with just the blog entries, or additional photos and text can be added. Bloggers also have the ability to select a book cover for further personalisation, with five of such covers only available to Blogger users. Bloggers can then share their BlogBook with friends, colleagues and family with a link to their collection of work that users can further personalise and order for themselves or others, added SharedBook.
Rick Klau, Blogger product manager, said: “We see our collaboration with SharedBook as a great opportunity for everyone on Blogger to find a new way to share and preserve their work and thereby extend the possibilities of this content and their relationship with it. Blogs allow for a wonderful exchange of both personal and professional content that can now be easily collected, compiled and preserved as a BlogBook through Blog2Print.”
Blog2Print provides bloggers a tool to capture their diary of work and create a book that preserves their own collection of blog entries.
Caroline Vanderlip, CEO of SharedBook, said: “We are thrilled to announce this service with Google. Blog2Print provides bloggers with a professional tool to package and preserve their work. Bloggers have long voiced a desire to easily publish their online content to a book format and Blog2Print responds to this overwhelming need.”
