Hughes Network Systems, a provider of broadband satellite networks and services, has announced that the US subsidiary of Telecomunicaciones Bantel, a provider of satellite communications in Venezuela, has upgraded to the advanced Hughes HN System platform in providing Ku-band broadband services to Latin American markets.
Telecomunicaciones Bantel is operating HN Network Operations Center in Miami, and implementing the full range of the latest Hughes HN7000S, HN7700S, and HN7740S satellite terminals for its vertical sector customers throughout the region.
According to Hughes, the HN System will enable Telecomunicaciones Bantel to provide its customers with higher availability, pan-regional coverage and a direct connection to US internet points of presence.
Nick Marzella, vice president for international division at Hughes, said: “Bantel is a successful satellite service provider, and their selection of our advanced HN platform confirms its many advantages, particularly the Hughes implementation of the IPoS/DVB-S2 standard with ACM.
