Infor tells customers to ‘make the move to cloud’

Migration from on-premise to cloud is topping the agenda of software vendor Infor’s latest partner summit in Texas, as the firm tries to entice its customers onto the modern service model.

Last year the company assured its users that it would commit to supporting on-premise deployment for the foreseeable future, but is increasingly speaking out about the benefits of the cloud as it advances its vertical-focused product line.

Jeff Abbott, SVP of global alliance and channels at Infor, said: "Infor is focused on micro-vertical specialisation and helping customers make the move to the cloud, and so is the IPN (Infor Partner Network)."

"Partners are an integral part of our long-term business strategy, and we’ve achieved this level of success by ensuring that the program’s structure and resources tie directly into our larger company initiatives."

The IPN added 130 partners to its network over the course of last year, according to Infor, and has added more than 100 each year for the last three years.

Norm Muttitt, president at Paranet Solutions, said joining the IPN had better allowed his firm to focus on vertical industries in which they operate, "such as hospitality, travel and finance".
