Screens protected by ultra-thin Gorilla glass
Acer has unveiled a dual-screen laptop known as the Iconia, which features 14-inch LCD displays with 1,366-by-768 resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio on both sides of the device.
The new laptop’s screens are protected by ultra-thin Gorilla glass, which makes them scratch-and fingerprint-resistant, pcmag.com reported.
The laptop includes the Intel Core i5, runs on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system, weighs 6.18 lbs and comes with a 4-cell battery with three hours of battery life.
The dual screen laptop has an Intel HD graphics card with 128MB of memory and up to 4GB of DDR3 1066 MHz system memory, upgradeable to 8GB, the company said.
It also includes a webcam with 1,280-by-1,024 resolution, an HDMI port, Dolby Home Theater v3, and a built-in microphone.
Applications on the Iconia are controlled the Acer Ring, which has fast access to the virtual keyboard, gesture editor, windows manager, and device control console.
The virtual keyboard can also be launched by placing both palms on the bottom display, and has a full-size QWERTY layout with international language support, as well a touchpad and numeric keypad.
The Iconia comes with built-in apps, like TouchBrowser, TouchPhoto, TouchMusic, and TouchVide, the webiste reported.
It also includes three new apps – SocialJogger for pulling in updates from Facebook, YouTube, and Flickr; My Journal for collecting Web clippings on particular topics; and Scrapbook for storing clippings, posts, and other information in one place.
