US-based Cisco, a provider of networking services for the Internet, acquired Tidal Software that develops intelligent application management and automation software.
Cisco claims that its data centre, through Tidal Software’s intelligent solutions, would provide accurate and cost-efficient management and automation of application performance across business operations, from the server through the network to the desktop.
On completion of acquisition, the Tidal Software team becomes a part of the Cisco Advanced Services organisation.
Cisco has recently unveiled its vision of Unified Computing, a data centre architecture which unites compute, network, storage access and virtualisation resources in a single cohesive system.
Recently Cisco announced Collaboration in Motion which integrates products and services from the Cisco WebEx, Cisco Unified Communications, Cisco Unified Wireless Network and Cisco Advanced Services product lines. As part of Collaboration in Motion, Cisco has focused on new products and services in five critical investment areas: the workspace experience, the wireless network platform, third-party applications, technology partners and professional services.
