Allows users to display targeted products and offers based on buying and browsing history of shoppers
DM insite, a developer of eCommerce Software as a Service (SaaS) for the mail order catalog industry, has launched the new DM insite Mercury Platform, a new eCommerce SaaS platform that provides merchants control over all aspects of an eCommerce site.
According to DM insite, the new Mercury Platform allows users to display targeted products and offers on their home page based on the buying and browsing history of shoppers; create several different templates for product and category pages to enhance the shopping experience and emphasise product benefits differently from page to page.
In addition the new platform also allows users to set-up, deliver and track up to a nine part email series triggered by eleven different events to entice shoppers back to the site; recognise and welcome first time shoppers based on the keyword and search engine they are visiting from, increasing the effectiveness of new customer acquisition marketing.
Reportedly, the Mercury platform is multitenant software deployed using Software as a Service (SaaS) model. This architecture allows the company to add new selling features directly on the platform and make them immediately available to merchants, such as new triggers for emails.
The company said that the software allows users to take control of the merchandising, categories, analytics and promotional opportunities on a site without requiring custom development or other IT expenses. Merchants on the platform can even share page designs with each other if they choose to, creating a powerful eCommerce community.
The new Mercury platform has many practices built-in, such as an email
preference centre, rotating banner ads, advanced promotions, customer specific pricing and more. The software also includes several SEO management tools.
Larry Kavanagh, founder and CEO of DM insite, said: “The improvement in our merchants ability to drive new customer acquisition, improve conversion rates and boost average order size are why we are so excited about this next generation of our software. The new release of our platform also gives catalogers the ability to circumvent the need for custom development and yet still produce sites that highlight what is unique about them.”
