Adds new capabilities meta-scheduling and administration
Fujitsu has released SynfiniWay V3, an integrated software framework for virtualised distributed computing. The new version enhances its workflow technology while adding new capabilities in meta-scheduling and administration.
SynfiniWay is a middleware that creates a virtualised IT framework for internal and external clouds. It provides an integrated set of capabilities, workflow technology to orchestrate services from its internal directory, global meta-scheduler for resource utilisation, and data movement of large-volume files.
The company claims the new version to expands the capabilities for SynfiniWay to provide a foundation for resilient architectures incorporating IT processes, extended enterprise and cloud computing.
According to Fujitsu, the new version features include, reschedule compute tasks to other resources in the face of hardware breakdown, resource exhaustion or other runtime errors; meta-scheduler that allows SynfiniWay to direct tasks to the best location for execution; and incorporates pre-defined sub-workflows into a single process, enabling organisations to publish and combine their local processes into a collaborative workflow.
In addition, it allows administrators to monitor the activity on any site in the framework and an easy integration within existing business systems; and full featured Java and Web APIs, allowing end-users to retain their existing interface.
David Papiah, CEO of Fujitsu, said: “Companies today want to move to the next level of IT support of business goals global solutions with quicker response to computing demands and easy scalability. With SynfiniWay organisations can create robust cloud solutions, whether it is to share existing resources distributed around the enterprise or combine resources in a workflow.”
