Delivers throughput, latency and performance for delivery of media-rich applications
HP has introduced a new suite of offerings based on its new FlexNetwork architecture, including the A-series 10500 campus core switch, which delivers throughput, latency and performance for the delivery of media-rich applications.
The new FlexManagement offering converges physical and virtual network management in a single pane of glass, while the new virtual- and cloud-optimised network intrusion prevention system (IPS) increases security in data centres, said the company.
The offerings are based on the FlexNetwork architecture, which is a unified architecture for the data centre, campus and branch enabling enterprises to harness the power of media-rich content, virtualisation, mobility and cloud computing, to company claimed.
The core component of the Converged Infrastructure, the FlexNetwork architecture unifies network silos.
The HP A10500 line of campus core switches delivers multimedia services including: high-definition video; 3 microsecond latency; and 128 wire-speed 10GbE ports.
The new IMC version 5 provides a unified view into the virtual and physical data centre network to accelerate service delivery, simplify operations and boost network availability.
In addition, it automatically discovers virtual machines, virtual switches and their relationship to the physical network, overcoming the challenges of administrating increasingly virtualised service-oriented data centres, the company said.
HP said that the upcoming version of IMC is planned to add automatic synchronisation of network connectivity information with Virtual Connect technology for server blades and automate the process of creating a server profile.
The new TippingPoint S6100N IPS appliance provides organisations a single, scalable network security framework that automatically and consistently builds in protection as virtual machines are created or moved across an enterprise.
The appliance also scales the HP Secure Virtual Framework to provide a single offering for physical, virtual and cloud environments.
The new HP A10500 campus core switch will be available in the second half of the year, the new Intelligent Management Center 5.0 will be available in June, IMC 5.1 will be available by the end of the year in the US while the TippingPoint S6100N appliance is available worldwide.
