Human Recognition Systems, a provider of total biometrics solutions, has revealed it will launch a student identity and attendance verification platform to improve efficiency for universities.
The system is built on its MVerify platform and is designed to reduce administrative costs and complexities for universities complying with student immigration rules.
The platform has been installed to verify student identity documents and measure student attendance during classes using fingerprint and smartcard technology. Data is then fed back into the MVerify web application to provide up-to-date reports on student data.
Jon Busby, Business Development at HRS, said the handheld device would ensure accurate reporting and increase academic performance through increased course attendance.
"With our extensive expertise in identity management, we have developed a cost-effective solution for the higher education sector that can simplify the Tier 4 reporting structure, reduce time spent on manual data administration and lower the associated costs," he said.
"Operated from a handheld device that can be passed among students, MVerify also supports an improved student experience by enabling more time to be spent on teaching rather than taking registers."
