Strengthens Information Lifecycle Governance offerings portfolio
IBM has acquired Mountain View, California based E-discovery provider PSS Systems, in a move to broaden its portfolio of information management software. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
PSS System provides software that helps enterprises analyse, automate and implement information governance policies across electronic business information and dispose that information in an automated way.
IBM said that with this acquisition, it will be able to deliver a portfolio of offerings that address client’s needs to manage, automate, and apply policies to address interlocking needs of CLO, CIO and lines-of-business constituents.
IBM vice president of enterprise content management Ron Ercanbrack said, with the acquisition of PSS Systems, the company will be able to expand its portfolio with a set of legal offerings that for the first time link corporate legal hold policies to reality of how information is managed and disposed of.
