Silicon Sisters hopes to capitalise on popularity of erotic fiction with game Everlove.
An indie app developer targeting romance readers hopes to capitalise on the resurgence of erotic fiction in its new game.
Silicon Sisters, an all-female game making company, has launched Everlove, a romantic iOS app targeted at the 74m people who read romance novels each year (according to Romance Writers of America).
After the success of E.L. James’s Fifty Shades of Grey and other erotic and romance titles, Everlove’s "titillating storyline" of a woman hypnotised into believing she is living in a village with an abundance of suitors to choose from provides a similar escapism, this time in the form of an iTunes app.
The game is designed for the iPad and iPhone, but an Android cversion is expected to be released soon, while PC and Mac versions will be released in the near future.
The release comes after another all-female game developer, Giant Spacekat, successfully funded an iPad title through Kickstarter.
Revolution 60, a space-set game featuring only women characters, reached its $5,000 goal to fund the game’s release after its developers had privately raised the cash needed to develop the scifi title.
