LG has unveiled its new tablet ahead of its official launch at the IFA trade show in Berlin.
The new LG G Pad 8.3 will be released at the trade show next week, and features an 8.3-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels and 273ppi pixel density for an HD display.
Powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, the device will run on Android’s 4.2.2 version of the Jelly Bean operating system.
The new tablet comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage memory, a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MPx camera.
LG president and CEO Jong-seok Park said that the introduction of the tablet further strengthens the company’s lineup.
"Our G Pad is just another example of LG delivering devices with the unique selling points consumers around the world will appreciate," Park said.
Features of the new tablet include Slide Aside that allows multitasking by sliding the running apps off to the side using a three-finger swipe and QSlide, which enables the users to manage three different apps in one window.
The device also supports the KnockON capability using which it can be turned on and off by tapping the display twice.
The G Pad is scheduled to be launched in other markets later on in the fourth quarter of the year.
