Microsoft has said that the company may abandon its plans to discontinue Windows XP by June 30, 2008 if users request so, according to Reuters.
The news agency has quoted Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, as saying: XP will hit an end-of-life. We have announced one. If customer feedback varies we can always wake up smarter but right now we have a plan for end-of-life for new XP shipments.
The company received no such request so far and customers have been preferring Windows Vista to XP, he said.
