Communications firm Motorola Mobility and corded, cordless phones and electronic learning products provider VTech have expanded the companies’ existing intellectual property licensing arrangement.
Motorola said the intellectual property licensing arrangement covers Motorola Mobility’s Wi-Fi, video and cordless phone patent portfolios.
The companies have expanded their business relationship, which includes patent licensing, trademark licensing and technology licensing.
Motorola Mobility Intellectual Property corporate vice-president Kirk Dailey said Motorola was pleased to collaborate with VTech in providing Motorola Mobility’s industry-leading technology and are confident this agreement will help foster continued innovation and technological advancement for the cordless phone industry.
"Motorola’s intellectual property portfolio covers many diverse technologies within the consumer electronics industry and we are committed to licensing our technology for the benefit of our licensees, customers, partners, and shareholders," said Dailey.
VTech Telecommunications president C.H. Tong said the new technical collaboration with Motorola Mobility allows VTech to continue its tradition in developing the most innovative range of corded and cordless phones for VTech’s markets worldwide.
