Leverage existing infrastructure, easier workload modifications and is multi-currency capable
Novell, a provider of intelligent workload management, has unveiled the latest version of Novell Cloud Manager with a new enhancement that the company says imports existing hosts and virtual machines to the cloud while leveraging current infrastructure and optimising resource allocation.
Novell said the new version gives users the freedom and flexibility to create and manage private clouds that support all leading hypervisors, operating systems and hardware platforms.
With an enhanced ability to import existing physical and virtual infrastructure into the cloud, the latest version of Novell Cloud Manager accelerates the transition to cloud computing.
Additionally, this new version provides a new iPhone client for mobile access and optimises the performance of applications in the cloud through streamlined resource configuration.
Novell Security, Management and Operating Platforms senior vice president and general manager Jim Ebzery said Novell Cloud Manager is the only cloud management offering that allows customers to absorb their existing virtual hosts, along with existing virtual machine guests into their private clouds, so they can be managed from a single product just like newly provisioned workloads.
The latest version of the cloud manager features automated on-demand workload provisioning and integration with best-in-class business service management products.
It also offers improved ability to leverage existing infrastructure, easier workload modifications for allowing for on-the-fly changes, and is multi-currency capable enabling customers around the globe to use Novell Cloud Manager in their local currency.
