Includes Open Text Exceed to bring touch support to Unix apps
Enterprise content management provider Open Text has released version 14 of its Connectivity Solutions, which consists of Open Text Exceed, a PC X server for Windows, Open Text HostExplorer, its terminal emulation suite and its secure shell clients and network file system software.
The company claims that the new version will offer organisations a smooth transition to the new Microsoft platform by leveraging the new productivity and security features of Windows 7.
The company said that the new software suite supports Windows 7 touch technology that allows users to interact with Unix and mainframe applications through touch interface; and Jump lists in the task bar and start menu to provide access to frequently accessed items and performed tasks.
In addition, the new release will also features multiple documents preview that reduces the time spent switching between applications and open sessions and FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic module to provide security to connections.
