Opsview, an open source IT monitoring software provider, has unveiled new Opsview Enterprise 3.12 that is designed to help organisations improve their IT performance through the effective monitoring of their IT environment.
The new offering provides organisations with scalability to monitor their physical and virtual infrastructure, both on premise and in the cloud while it’s automated configuration reduces deployment times, and graphical interface provides organisations with a better single view of their entire IT environment, said the company.
In addition, the Opsview Enterprise offers the functionality and professional support associated with traditional proprietary IT monitoring offerings at less cost.
The Opsview Enterprise is built on the Nagios open-source IT monitoring engine, and is designed to meet the needs of large organisations that have complex IT environments and require monitoring 24/7.
The offering scales up to more than 20,000 hosts (devices) and is managed centrally through a master dashboard.
The new Opsview Enterprise 3.12 features include: improved cluster monitoring; rest API; SUSE 11 support; simple network management protocol (SNMP) aggregation; and greater visibility and faster access.
Opsview product manager James Peel said as Opsview Enterprise is open source it is much more customisable meaning that it can better meet an organisations’ ever changing business and technological needs, much more cost effectively.
