Perlego Systems, a US-based provider of mobile device lifecycle management systems, has announced that the company’s Horizons system will support the Open Mobile Alliance device management protocol.
According to the company, its Horizons is a device management solution that enables enterprises, resellers and device manufacturers to manage deployed smart wireless devices, regardless of platform or carrier in a single system. With Horizons, administrators can deploy applications, issue patches and disable devices all over-the-air.
The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) membership represents nearly 200 companies, including many mobile operators, device and network suppliers, IT companies, and content providers. The group establishes specifications that ensure interoperable mobile services across countries, operators and mobile terminals. OMA’s device management (DM) protocol is specified by the DM Working Group.
Todd Ostrander, CEO of Perlego Systems, said: Horizons’ support for OMA DM means our customers will be able to deploy strong mobile device management policies while also ensuring an open and flexible environment. We look forward to helping companies across the globe quickly and easily meet their unique mobile IT requirements, without having to worry about the types of devices, platforms or carriers they need to manage.
